Walking Pigeons

As i was walking to la poste yesterday afternoon, i thought i had sore something absurd. I thought i saw a lady walking a pigeon. Yes it was probably trickery of the eye, i should have been wearing my spectacles, yet such an act would not surprise me. The french love their animals, especially their pooches. I have seen Cats and Ferrets walked by leash. While speaking to my mum on the phone yesterday, she randomly mentioned that the russians had sent a cow paraglyding over the ocean. Why do we mess with the tranquility of an animals state of being.

My new goal is to find a weekend inspiration course to be creative and artistic. I was clearing out photos from my constipated computer and found some photos from a course i did in Perth. The weekend course was with Sabrina Ward Harrison who flew from the states for us Perthians. Its was fun, thought provoking and very therapeutic. The best part was drinking coffee and getting creative on the floor of the hair salon. Joy!

I have a new friend

My new friends' name is Diana and she's very small, kitch, and works very well. She is my new camera. I just happened to be one in a million people who succumbed to the beauty of lomography cameras.
I was so excited to use her that i finished one film of 45 photos in two mornings. The future shots will include photo jogging down by the river in Nantes and happy snaps of this lovely city. Now i just need to find somewhere to develop the roll. Traditional photos shops are few and far between these days.

I've recently become an admirer of this young lady featured below (Janelle Monae). She's stays positive and fearless while creating her art and is so super fantastic.
Last weekend i stayed home and experimented with water colours. This painting was one of my first big ones. There is room for improvement but i will say i was a little chuffed with it :)
I hope you enjoy.
Also, thankyou for the lovely comments. It's uplifting to know there are people interested.

Bastille day (la fete nationale)

Its a freak independence day in France today. I just happened to be painting this when i was asked to look out the window. Low and behold, there was a freak rain shower. Thirty seconds after, blue skies. Happy 14 Juillet Frenchies!

Monsieur Le Bouff

I work with three wonderful girls and one day the youngest and i were experimenting with the never ending odd basket of crayons and pens. It occurred to me how much i love the simplicity of a grey marker. From this grey marker, 'Monsieur Le Bouff' was born. Please excuse the bold font on this post my computer is a tad constipated.

Confuzzled

I was confused as to what my first post would be. So i decided on sharing this. This a drawing by me which i have titled as, 'Confuzzled'. As this is how i feel sometimes when strangers start conversations with me, babbling on in french until they see my face transfigure into a little squished up mess. Then they gorgeously attempt to speak English and talk about James Bond and sharks, because to the french who are unaware, sharks somehow represent Australia. And James Bond must represent the British language. Hmmm...
